DIGICARB 2D :Thermal analyser

DIGICARB 2D is a microprocessor based digital instrument for the automatic thermal analysis of molten iron. It is designed for use with plug - in, fast response, Type 'K' Thermocouple sample cups.
It supercedes the original Digicarb 2 analogue version.
The instrument is housed in a steel, dust - proof case which may be bench, panel or wall mounted.

An 8 positon switch allows selection for continous monitoring of :

  • Sample Temperature
  • Liquidus Temperature
  • Solidus Temperature
  • Carbon Equivalent Liquidus or C. E.Value %
  • Carbon %
  • Silicon %
  • Phosphorous % - a present, adjustable Value
  • Silicon Offset - a present, adjustable Value

Silicon Offset adjustment allows the effect of residual elements on the Arrest Temperatures, to be cancelled out. Alternatively, it may be used to enable the Si reading to be tuned to the Spectrum Analyser value.

Inside Panel switches enable selection off :

  • C.E.L. or C.E.V. %
  • Degrees Celsius or Farenheit
  • BCIRA for Tectip/Carbon Cup or Quick - cup formula
  • Measure or Calibrate mode, allows instrument to be used adittionally, as a Carbon and Silicon calculator.
  • UP/DOWN (Increase/Decrease) buttons, and in Calibrate mode, enable P %, Si Offset % and other parameters to be adjusted : DIGICARB 2D can be fine tuned to your Cooling Curve.

An RS232/485 Serial Output port gives a download facility to a remote printer or computer, for storage/processing of results. A Windows 95/98 Download Disk is provided.
