SMARTDIP:
THE INTELLIGENT PORTABLE
FOUNDRY PYROMETER
SMARTDIP
3 is a rugged portable digital pyrometer planned specifically
for use in the foundry environment. Housed in a tough well
designed lightweight aluminium case and with a single button
operation that searches, holds, displays and stores the
peak dip temperature using its plateau detection program:
Digital circuits and program throughout.
|
|
Smartdip
3is the ideal tool for obtaining your molten metal temperature
data. Add to this the capability to store over 999 temperature
readings with overflow including the time and date, for
batch downloading to your PC using a windows program. No
other portable pyrometer comes close for ease of use, accuracy,
reliability and flexibility, at an affordable cost.

|
|
SMARTDIP
3
is battery powered with a 4 digit bright display which will
automatically indicate 'low battery voltage', 'broken thermocouple'
and 'reversed polarity' whilst obtaining readings. Your
new instrument will be provided with a 1.25 metre steel
dip arm as standard, mechanically clamped into the instrument
with your required thermocouple connector or thermocouple
pre-fitted and hard wired to your Smartdip 2 instrument.
SMARTDIP
3
is available for use with Type 'B', 'K48', 'K68', 'N', 'R48','R68',
'S48','S68' thermocouples, degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
|
|
SMARTDIP
3 'K' can be supplied with a hard wired KWIKTIP K-90
Accutip or swaged dip arm. Alternatively, for quick and easy
use, a disposable plug-in swaged dip arm may be specified.
SMARTDIP 2 'N' is supplied with a swaged tip. SMARTDIP
3 'B', 'R' & 'S' have arms with a connector pre-fitted
to accept the plug-in expendable thermocouples of your choice.
SMARTDIP
3SS Siberian Specification:
A
low working temperature version allows accurate measurements
to be taken at ambient temperatures as low as minus 22 deg.C
( minus 8 deg.F ) although the instrument will function down
to minus 38 deg.C ( minus 36 deg. C).
|
|
|
Standard
Features:
1. A DIP (DIL) switch within the instrumen enables any calibrated
range to be selected, plus deg. C or deg F.
Additional
Features, on request:
Green, Amber, red Sequence Light Systems indicating thermocouple
O.K. (Green) Temperature Rising (Amber), Plateau detected
(Red).
OPERATION:-
: If expendable thermocouples are to be used:- plug in the
correct type of thermocouple to the dip arm. Grip the handle
and press the 'ON' button switch. Time is displayed, Station
number, then ambient temperature. {Ambient temperatures
whilst being displayed are automatically rejected for a
stored reading} Immerse the thermocouple tip in the metal.
Allow the reading to stabilise, then remove the tip from
the melt. Peak temperature will be automatically displayed
for 15 seconds after the tip temperature drops 200 deg.
C below the stable value held whilst in the melt. Note the
reading. A second switch, on top of the handle allows an
identifying number to be added to each reading: This number,
1 to 8, may be used to identify station, cast or batch number.
After a measurement is completed you may press this second
switch to delete the reading. The range of numbers is preset,
from the computer, via our Input/Output program.
SMARTDIP 3 also stores
the reading along with the time and date for future downloading
to a computer via a stereo socket in the side of the instrument,
which is also utilised for recharging the internal battery
pack, from the mains, with a plug-in, constant current charger.
Please specify mains supply voltage required, 110V or 220/230V.
SMARTDIP 3 is also available
with domestic non-rechargeable AA dry cell batteries.
